Rooted in Rhythm: A Thoughtful Approach to Year-Round Landscape Care

Landscapes, like people, do best with consistent attention. Not too much, not too little—just the right care, at the right time. At Tim Andrews Horticulturist, our Basic Landscape Maintenance Package is built around that simple principle: working with the seasons, not against them.

We know that healthy, beautiful landscapes aren’t the result of one big effort—they’re built across the year in small, well-timed steps. Our package includes spring, summer, and fall cleanups, along with three lawn care applications delivered exactly when your turf needs them most. It’s not just maintenance—it’s stewardship.

Here’s what’s included:

Spring Cleanup: Clearing the Way for Growth

As winter recedes, we begin with a gentle, thorough cleanup. This isn’t a scorched-earth approach—our spring work respects overwintering pollinators and soil life while still preparing your landscape to thrive. Services include:

  • Removing fallen branches and debris
  • Cutting back perennials and ornamental grasses (with care)
  • Light pruning of shrubs to shape and refresh
  • First edging of beds and walkways
  • Mulch touch-ups if needed

Spring is also when we assess how your plants weathered the winter and make recommendations to support new growth—from soil health to plant replacements.

Summer Cleanup: Midseason Refinement

By midsummer, many landscapes start to look a bit untamed. We step in to bring back structure and ease—without overdoing it. Our summer visit includes:

  • Selective pruning and deadheading to encourage continued blooming
  • Light weeding and bed maintenance
  • Refreshing edges and removing early leaf drop or debris
  • Checking irrigation systems or moisture needs
  • Spotting any early signs of pests or disease

This midseason care keeps your landscape looking polished and performing well through the heat.

Fall Cleanup: Preparing for Rest

Autumn is when the garden exhales. It’s also when thoughtful care can set the stage for a healthy spring. Our fall cleanup includes:

  • Cutting back spent perennials and grasses (unless they’re left for winter interest or wildlife)
  • Raking and removing leaves from key areas
  • Final weeding and edging
  • Preparing trees and shrubs for winter (including mulching root zones)
  • Optional bulb planting for spring bloom

We do just enough to tidy up, while preserving habitat and soil structure during the dormant season.

Three Lawn Applications—Perfectly Timed

A thriving lawn doesn’t need constant chemical input—it needs well-timed nutrition. Our package includes three applications spaced through the growing season:

  1. Early Spring (Pre-Emergent + Fertilizer): Encourages strong early growth and helps prevent crabgrass and broadleaf weeds.
  2. Early Summer (Broadleaf Control + Fertilizer): Supports green, steady growth through the warm months without pushing excess top growth.
  3. Late Fall (Winterizer): Strengthens roots and helps your lawn overwinter with vigor, setting it up for a healthy return in spring.

These applications are selected with care—minimal, effective, and aligned with good environmental practice.

Why It Matters

Anyone can mow a lawn or blow leaves. But long-term landscape health comes from knowing when to intervene—and when to let the land do what it does best. Our Basic Maintenance Package gives your property the care it needs to thrive year-round, without overcomplicating things.

It’s predictable. It’s professional. And it’s grounded in the rhythms of southern Wisconsin’s seasons.

If you’re ready to take the guesswork out of your landscape care—and let your property reflect its full potential—we’d be honored to help.
