I have been a practicing horticulturist for over 30 years. These include over 10 years as Landscape and Grounds Coordinator for Edgewood College overseeing all aspects of the implementation of the campus master plan and over 20 years as owner and president of Cedar Hills Landscape, Inc. overseeing work of 50 employees and maintenance of all equipment. I work to promote teamwork and efficient implementation of all activities that I oversee.

Private horticultural and tree care service specializing in landscape insect and disease diagnosis and control, establishment and maintenance of perennial gardens, ornamental plantings, and ecological restoration of prairies and woodlands.
In In the spring of 2012, I retired from my full time staff position at Edgewood, running Tim Andrews Horticulturist full time with my sons, Bud and Beau. We were soon joined by Becky Mosel, my best student worker from Edgewood. After a year, Becky and Beau started dating and were married Sept. 8th 2013. They have each assumed leadership roles in the business. The leadership includes the following: President/ Vice President- Tim and Cyndy Andrews, Production Manager- Beau Andrews, Assistant Manager- Landscape and treatments- Becky Andrews. Office/Media Manager- Jessy Christenson. As of 2015 there are up to 14 employees performing all aspects of Tree and Landscape care as well as landscape renovation and renewal throughout Dane, Sauk, Columbia, Iowa and Rock counties in southwestern Wisconsin. Our specialty is in Landscape and Tree insect and disease diagnosis and control.
Edgewood College – Landscape and Grounds Coordinator (1998 – 2012)
Oversee and facilitate all aspects of landscape and grounds maintenance including:
ornamental and seasonal plantings, e.g., flowers and ground covers
turf maintenance and installation
all aspects of arboriculture, i.e., tree & shrub planting, care, and maintenance
ecological restoration and maintenance of campus prairie and woodland areas
oversight of historical Indian mound preservation efforts
representing Edgewood at city council and planning commission meetings
representing Edgewood as neighborhood liaison at planning meetings
College sustainability coordinator duties include:
establishing campus-wide energy management policies
creating a prioritized list of needed improvements to college facilities
working to maintain Edgewood=s WI-DNR Green Tier certification
creating ongoing programs to educate the college community on sustainability practices
developing a campus wide campaign for energy conservation and stewardship

Cedar Hills Landscape, Inc. President / Owner (1978-1997)
Owned and operated a design/build landscape company employing up to 50 seasonal workers, landscape architects, plant pathologists, and certified arborists. Contract work included all aspects of landscape construction, renovation, and maintenance. Established and maintained good working relationships with local vendors and contractors to facilitate construction of award-winning landscapes, both residential and commercial.
COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK
Town of Dunn – Planning Commissioner (2000-present)
Helped to develop and implement a nationally recognized land-use plan that preserves open space. I continue working to guide thoughtful development while protecting local ecosystems.
Town of Dunn – Tree Board (2005-present)
Developed a tree protection ordinance and worked with the WI-DNR to achieve Tree City-USA status.
Sinsinawa Dominican Associate (2002-present); Advisory Board (2006-present)
The Sinsinawa Dominicans, through their values, advocate the creation of a holy and just society. I support this effort by working to increase awareness and commitment to planetary stewardship.
All my work is a reflection of my commitment to improving stewardship of our natural world. As part of this effort I am often invited to speak to various groups. These include presenting guest lectures to Edgewood elementary and high school classes. I have spoken to and lead tours for Madison Public School classes and have guest lectured in classes across all departments at Edgewood College. Often I lead tours of campus natural areas including talks focusing on the Native American history and the local Indian mounds. I’ve spoken to garden clubs, church groups, student organizations at the UW-Madison, and many other private groups.
